Greggs launches click and collect in Manchester

The new service, which launched this week in three Manchester shops, allows customers to pre-order and collect a breakfast order through the new Greggs Collect Manchester app, powered by Preoday.

The service enables customers to order breakfast days or even minutes in advance of collection – perfect for round-the-corner ordering to skip the morning queue.

Greggs breakfast menu includes a range of pastries, porridges and granola along with breakfast sandwiches, baguettes and wraps and a full range of freshly ground, Fairtrade coffee including a new Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Ordering Greggs on the Greggs Collect Manchester app is easy:

  1. Download the Greggs Collect Manchester app
  2. Pick your click and collect location
  3. Place your breakfast order – pick the items you want right now or schedule your order for pick-up in advance. The order will be charged to the card registered to your account
  4. Head to your chosen shop and skip the queue

Roisin Currie, Retail and People Director at Greggs, said: “When it comes to food-on-the-go, our customers tell us that convenience is key, so we’ve been working hard to make Greggs available to our customers when and where they want it. The breakfast click and collect trial is the latest initiative we’re looking at to help make life easier for our customers by offering them quick and convenient access to our great tasting products during the morning rush hour.

“Our strong customer base in Manchester makes it an ideal place to trial this service, which is designed to make life more convenient for customers in a busy inner city. [If the trial is successful, we will look at rolling this service out to other locations].”

Nick Hucker, CEO of Preoday, added: “It’s been a pleasure working with Greggs on its new breakfast click and collect service, providing technology we hope will underpin a wider digital ordering programme after this initial trial in Manchester. The company’s strong brand and the city’s convenience-craving community leaves us in no doubt that its customers will be excited to give it a try.”

The three shops available for Greggs click and collect are:

  • Parker Street
  • King Street
  • Manchester Victoria Station
