Marina Theatre in Lowestoft is building on its strong reputation amongst theatre-goers by launching an interval drinks app service, allowing patrons to beat the interval drinks queues and order and pay from their smartphone.
Marina Eat & Drink is available to download now for free from the App Store and Google Play. Patrons simply need to download the app, select their items and pay- all in a matter of seconds. They are then able to collect their order from a designated collection point, beating the queues and allowing more time to enjoy the varied events the theatre has to offer such as classical talent like the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and household names like Al Murray and Jimmy Carr.
The service will first be available for the performance of Footloose on the 23rd February.
Michael Court, Food & Beverage manager at Marina Theatre, says, “We are very excited to be launching such an innovative service at Marina Theatre. It was the flexibility of Preoday’s platform that made them the obvious choice for us, and their customer service and responsiveness has been very impressive. We already look forward to seeing how we can expand our mobile-ordering service even further by introducing a quick-collect service for our popular café at lunchtime.
It’s not as catchy as: ‘When is a door not a door?’ (answer, when it’s a jar) but it speaks to the idea that in-car collection, and the technologies that support it, are flexible enough to bend to the needs of a business and its guests.
Delivery can be daunting to the uninitiated, and it might be tempting to sign up with a third-party ordering aggregator that offers the service, such as UberEats, but other options could suit your business and brand better. Here we present three different ‘levels’ of delivery, starting with the most basic – and cheapest method: doing it yourself.
