Royal Opera House launches their own interval drinks app & online ordering service

Royal Opera House, the home of the Royal Opera and Royal Ballet, will be giving patrons to its 2,256 seat theatre the opportunity to pre-order their interval drinks before even stepping in the venue. In association with Company of Cooks and Preoday, the Royal Opera House Bars app allows patrons to order and pay for their interval drinks from their smartphone. This means that they no longer have to worry about having enough time to get their wines during the intermission, and instead can relax and enjoy the Royal Opera House’s world-class performances.

Patrons simply need to download the Royal Opera House Bars app from the App Store or Google Play, select what event they are attending, choose what they would like to order, when they would like to collect their order and then pay by card.

Alternatively patrons can order online by going to http://www.roh.org.uk/visit/restaurants-and-bars/roh-bars-app.

The app will first be made available on the 1st March for the performance of La Traviata.

Ian Stephenson, Group Systems and IT manager for Company of Cooks, caterers for the Royal Opera House says, ‘We are very excited to help launch the Royal Opera House Bars app. We were very pleased the voucher service they launched for us at the National Portrait Gallery, and were keen to implement their platform. Additionally, their easy user experience and deep customer analytics made Preoday’s platform the obvious solution. We look forward to seeing how we can take the service even further by including pre-show meals within the app.’

Sara Maxted, Head of Sales and Marketing at Royal Opera House Restaurants says, ‘We’re looking forward to launching such an innovative service at the bars.  It was Preoday’s white-label solution as well as their experience in having operated with previous large performing venues like the Barbican that convinced us that they would be the best choice for the Royal Opera House.’
