Sage Gateshead theatre, catered by Centerplate UK, has released its own app to allow patrons to pre-order their pre-show, interval and post-show drinks before they even step into the building. This means that patrons can spend less time worrying about the interval drinks rush and more time enjoying the performance.
Patrons simply need to download Sage Gateshead Bars from the App Store or Google Play, choose which event they are attending, and then order and pay through the app, at the same price as paying over the bar. Then depending on where they are seated, they will be directed to pick up their order at the nearest collection point.
The app will be first available for the performance of Halle on the 28th of May. There will also be a 10% discount off all orders made through the app.
Jamie Witts, Centerplate UK’s General Manager at Sage Gateshead says ‘We are very excited to be using Preoday to launch our interval drinks app. It was the flexibility of their platform, and their white label approach, which made them the obvious choice. We are especially looking forward to seeing the platform’s potential to promote our regular offers and to present the ordering of interval refreshments through online and even ticketing channels.’
It’s not as catchy as: ‘When is a door not a door?’ (answer, when it’s a jar) but it speaks to the idea that in-car collection, and the technologies that support it, are flexible enough to bend to the needs of a business and its guests.
Delivery can be daunting to the uninitiated, and it might be tempting to sign up with a third-party ordering aggregator that offers the service, such as UberEats, but other options could suit your business and brand better. Here we present three different ‘levels’ of delivery, starting with the most basic – and cheapest method: doing it yourself.
